Dream Holiday House for Luxury Vacation Rentals in Hay on Wye, Wales, UK

setting |  Choosing Brookfield House as your dream holiday house is like walking into another time. A lovingly restored Jacobean town house on three floors, it has a large, semi-formal garden at the back with lawn and seating areas; a sunken box parterre garden in the front with pleached crab apple trees; and wisteria and roses around the door. For luxury vacation rentals we are situated in a quiet location, a minute’s walk from the centre of the medieval market town of Hay-on-Wye, Wales, UK - deep in the heart of the Black Mountains.

sleeping |  There are three bedrooms - one twin and two doubles, each with its own uniquely designed bathroom: A Mistress bedroom with French Bergere double bed, walk-in wardrobes & en-suite marble & mosaic bath & shower; a Master bedroom with teak four-poster double bed & en-suite bathroom with cast iron bath, walk-in shower and a dry sauna for 3 - with its own sound system! Finally, a further sun filled twin-bed bedroom with a glorious view onto the garden and mountain behind. It has its own en-suite shower room and loo.

living |  In addition to the Library, the house has a relaxing Oak floored Drawing room with period furniture, lime plastered walls and wood burning stove. The Dining room seats ten comfortably round a table set with hand made lace & linen table cloth. The large Kitchen is a less formal reception room with open fireplace, relaxing seating, and a mahogany table for up to six. Large French doors lead out to garden and provides access to outside seating on a sunny day.

The kitchen was originally built as a school-room for local children - the house was a school in the 1840s - and to prove it, we found pieces of old chalk and marbles beneath the floorboards! However, be warned the house, when not rented, is our home and is not child-proofed - a dream holiday house for adults! (See About Us)

Full viewing equipment is available in the drawing room for your enjoyment with flat screen TV, DVD player, free broadband and WiFi, radio/CD player, plus a stock of DVDs. We do not have ‘live’ TV or Sky. CDs and a large selection of books are available, maps to borrow, cards & games, and leaflets describing ‘what’s on’ in and around Hay-on-Wye.

Fresh seasonal and locally sourced flowers are presented on your arrival.
